NIC Manipur is equipped with highly qualified ICT professionals who are competent to take up IT projects ranging from development of S/W , Installation H/W and maintenance of Sectt LAN & RF network across the Imphal city. There are altogether 10 NIC centres in Manipur- (1) one State Centre and (2) nine district centres. There are only two sanctioned posts in each districts there is no such limitation at the State Centre. The actual numbers, centre wise are shown below

RF Connected Sites/Buildings at Imphal:
With a view to expand
the NIC network over a wide area in Imphal so as to form
a complete MAN for the Govt of Manipur, installation of
RF Network started in the year 2002. At
present 58 remote buildings ( including 2 NIC) have
been covered.

A number of servers has been set up at NIC, Imphal to cater to the needs of the State. The various types of services that are presently offered are :
(a) Hosting of Websites
(b) Creating E-mail a/c of State Govt officials
(c) Dial-up Internet connectivity etc.
Presently the following servers are run at Manipur State Centre.
1. Web Server
2. Mail Server
3. Proxy Server
4. Data Server
5. Anti Virus Server
6. Backup Server
At present, the above servers are able to cater the needs of the state. But in future, it will require more servers in view of the increasing demands of the E-governance activities.
Maintenance of Secretariat LAN:
Preliminary study of Secretariat LAN, Imphal started in the month of November 2000 and it was commissioned in the month of July, 2002 which is spread over to two premises of 6 buildings of different stories. The maintenance of such a complicated and delicate network requires constant attention of experience professional to attend to the immediate calls of the users whenever there is Network problems. NIC has been doing it since its inception.
Maintenance of RF Network :
RF network has been set up at 58 locations of which two are at NIC centres. The remaining 56 sites are at different locations and maintenance require experienced hand to handle it properly. NIC Manipur is maintaining the RF network efficiently since its inception.
