PHED Survey :
In the year 2003, a survey of PHED were conducted under the scheme of DWS . The survey was conducted by Public Health Engineering Department of
Manipur. NIC was involved during the data entry, especially when the village codification were a difficult task to the agency. NIC fully supported in resolving the issue of village codification as well as customization of the S/W. NIC sent final database to NIC Hq for further transmission to Ministry of Water Resources, Govt of India. NIC is working out plans to implement the project in a phase manner in
Manipur.

Daily Treasury Transaction :
Under the scheme of Chief Minister's MIS, a Web Portal was developed by NIC Manipur in the year 2002, wherein Daily Treasury Transactions are monitored. The S/W was developed at NIC Manipur State Centre using ASP for server side, Java for client side and MS-Access for back end database and it is hosted at http://man.nic.in/treasury. The system was designed to cover 17 Treasury offices in Manipur located at different districts. Each treasury is required to feed three figures of their Daily Transactions, i.e (1) Receipts (2) Payments and (3) Pension Payments on daily basis. One user ID with password is created for every treasury offices with the facility that they can feed the above three figures from any NIC offices of the districts or CICs using the web portal. The system has been in use since December 2002 without any problem. |
Manipur
Government Employee List (MGEL) :
Since 2001-02 Budget preparation on the salary expenditures of Manipur Government, NIC Manipur has been assisting the State Finance Department to compile the details of all the employees of state government departments. Fiscal Policy analysis requires a good database incorporating various information of the employees. Keeping in view of the present day requirement and future requirement, a database was developed for all the employees of the Manipur Government, department wise. |
Computerisation
of Land Records:
Computerisation of Land Records started in the year 2000. The Loucha Pathap ( Land Records Management S/W) was developed at NIC Manipur Centre by its own professionals. Out of the nine districts of Manipur, data entry started in 5 districts , 4 in valley districts plus 1 in hill district of Churachandpur. In the hill districts, there are very, very few land records. Therefore, it was decided to start in the four valley districts plus Churachandpur district, which has fairly large number of land records compared to other hill districts.

Payroll
S/W :
The Integrated Payroll Version 2.0 is an upgraded version of the Payroll package developed by NIC, Manipur State Unit (in the year 1993) under Unix and Foxbase+ environment. This upgraded version is developed keeping in view the implementation of the 5th Pay Commission in Manipur using latest technologies such as Visual Basic 6 as User Interface and Microsoft Access as Data Provider. This package was primarily developed for GAD, Manipur Secretariat keeping in view the tremendous efforts the officials had put while processing monthly salary. This software caters to the need of more than 1000 employees working under Manipur Secretariat, Imphal. |
Computerisation
of Transport Department:
VAHAN S/W was started online implementation in Manipur in December 2003 at DTO Imphal West. Prior to the online implementation, backlog data entry was started at NIC Manipur State Centre. Procurement of H/S was progressing at that time. When the H/W were installed and back log data entry reached 22,132 records, it was decided to start online implementation of VAHAN S/W. Initially it was started for private vehicles only. So far it has processed about 5340 private vehicles. After augmenting the required H/W, it will start online implementation of Commercial vehicles. |
