POLICY OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the policy are as follows:

1. To set up the Institutional Framework to implement and monitor the IT Policy.
2. To use E-Governance to upgrade the standard and quality of administration, and to provide citizen-oriented, efficient and cost-effective government.
3. To promote investments and growth in IT industry, and encourage private sector initiative in IT related infrastructure and services, so as to increase the contribution of IT in the economic growth of the State.
4. To provide adequate infrastructure in the State so that the IT sector can flourish.
5. To encourage percolation of IT literacy and education in the State.
6. To generate IT related employment opportunities for the educated youth.
7. To use the power of IT to enhance earning capacity of the citizens for a better quality of life.
